Follow Beryl’s Knit!
Back in November, I got a contact email from Adele Carroll who wanted some advice regarding the pattern in Sarah Kennedy’s “Killing Handbook”. It turns out her mum was going to knit it for her. Adele didn’t need much persuasion when I suggested she ask her mum to send details of the job whilst it was in progress. So, here we have the first of what will hopefully be a series detailing Beryl’s knitting of a Sarah Lund jumper from scratch!
Beryl is 83 and clearly a seasoned pro: She’s inverted the pattern so Adele can have a slightly more moody white on black jumper.
Beryl’s top tip #1:
It’s a good idea to keep a pencil and paper with you to make a note of the number of rows between decreasing rows as you go along.
All the (truly excellent) shots in this series have been taken by 18 year old photography student Harvey Squires.

Wow, thank you so much for sharing this. Go Beryl!
It is so delightful to actually see someone using my pattern, absolutely magical! I look forward to watching the progress!
